Cooling off
Several of us took a quick did in the Sea of Galilee just to say we did. It was perfect, cool but not cold, and pretty clear. It was a big day!
Sermon on Mt
This is hillside near Capernaum where Jesus spoke to 10,000 plus people. It is a natural amphitheater
Sea of Galilee
It is much smaller than I expected, only 12 miles long and 5 to 7 miles wide. From Capernaum in this photo, you can see all 12 miles to the south end!
Capernaum
The Synagogue and all the ruins around it were only about 100 yards from the north end of the Sea is Galilee! Jesus was here when he told Peter to catch a fish, get the coin out of his mouth and pay the tax. Could be right here!
Chorazin
Jesus did 70 % of his ministry in Chorazin, Capernam, and Bethsaida. Towns about four miles apart! This was key trade route of the world then.
Springs
Seven springs come into Sea Galilee here called Tabgha. Likely this is the place where Jesus called Peter James, John, and Andrew to follow Him.
Mt Arbel
We all had about 30 min on the to to get alone to pray. This was my view. I prayed aloud looking at the Sea of Galilee and the countryside 1000 ft below. It was very inspiring to know Jesus likely prayed right there! It was also convicting that He got up early, climbed the Mt and prayed! I need to get more time to get alone to pray!!
